Ada Lovelace was a woman outside of her time, and she is no different in this play. Ada is the prism of light in the play that connects the other characters. She is grounded in the late 1840s, the prime of her life. The rest of the characters, save Lord Byron, are grounded in the 1830s. Their fashion is slightly different from Ada’s. Lord Byron’s fashion is based in the 1820’s, the prime of his life and the time of his death.
