The costumes of The Importance of Being Earnest reflect the ridiculous extravagance of 1890s England. Oscar Wilde’s satire asks the costumes to be over the top and express the personalities of the characters, be it through the muted colors of Jack or the large pheasant on Lady Bracknell's hat.
